Mental Health Professional Team (Tier III services)
The Peace Wapiti Public School Division Mental Health Team is made up of 3 Mental Health Therapists that provide Tier 3 Mental Health supports to students, staff, and families. Mental Health Therapists work independently and as a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence based interventions that support the overall mental health and wellbeing of children and youth within the Peace Wapiti Public School Division.
Ashley Mercer, MSW, RSW

I was born and raised in rural Newfoundland and moved to Grande Prairie in 2005. My little family consists of my daughter, husband and two puppies. I am happy to call Grande Prairie home. I love to read, garden, camp, and spend time with my family and friends.

Kayla Waywanko, MSW, RSW

I was born and raised in rural Newfoundland, however have called Grande Prairie my home for the last 13 years. I am a Registered Social Worker and am currently completing my Masters of Social Work through the University of Waterloo. Additionally, I have a background in Education and was previously a teacher in the Peace Wapiti Public School Division.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children swimming, hiking and playing board games. |

I was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB and moved to Grande Prairie in 2003. I enjoy spending time outside and being active with my husband and two boys, camping, reading and doing art. I have a person centered and creative approach to working with people and I am so excited to be back working within schools. I enjoy the energy and collaborative nature of school environments and look forward to meeting you all!
